SUBJECT: Rezoning of Parcels from Highway Oriented Commercial (HOC) and Residential Low
Density to Highway Oriented Commercial (HOC) with the Lincoln WayMixed-Use
Overlay(O-LMU) Zone. Case File ZMA-15-05
The intent is to rezone the property Highway Oriented Commercial (HOC)with the Lincoln Way
Mixed-Use Overlay.
The Planning and Zoning Commission took action on the rezoning request at the meeting held on
Wednesday,August 19, 2015.
The City Council will take action on the rezoning request at the meeting scheduled for Se tember 8,
2015. A Plat of Survey will need to be approved prior to the Rezoning to create the tw proposed
new parcels.
The labels for the 200' notification are attached.
A copy of the map for the area under consideration is attached.
The legal descriptions for this rezoning request are attached. (See Page 2) The Legal D scriptions
attached are for the two new parcels to be approved with the Plat of Survey.

Survey Description-Parcel 'A':
A part of Lots 1 and 2 in Walnut Ridge Subdivision First Addition and the East 73.74 feet of the
alley in Edgewood Fifth Addition, all in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, more particularly
described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest Corner of said Lot 1; thence N00°01'39"E,
246.80 feet to the Northwest Corner thereof; thence N00°23'07"W, 23.91 feet to the North line
of said alley; thence S89023'05"E, 73.74 feet to the Northeast Corner of said alley; thence
S89025'59"E, 337.94 feet to the Northeast Corner of said Lot 2; thence S00°17,39"E, 48.23
feet along the East line thereof; thence N90000'00"W, 285.14 feet; thence S00°00'00"W,
