Show Images Dear City Council Members. It has come to my attention that tomorrow evening you plan to vote on repealing City Ordinance (municipal code section 17.31) called the "Lap Dance" ordinance. I understand that this is being considered because of a recent court decision involving a employee at "Dangerous Curves" who was accused of violating the ordinance. Municipal code section 17.31, as currently stated, ALLOWS 'lap dances' within 'adult entertainment business' and provides guidelines, in part, for the protection, health and safety of all involved in the "lap dance". The above mentioned court case was not about the lap dance, but the violations of the guidelines which required dancers to be protected during these dances and not fully "nude or so attired as to leave exposed the entertainer's genitals, or pubic hair, or anus, or buttocks, or female breast, or female breast with only the nipple covered." Repealing this ordinance only allows more exposure during the already legal lap dances. If you repeal this ordinance then you will not have more "safe" lap dances in Ames, you will have more "unsafe" lap dances in Ames. If you repeal this ordinance then you will be leaving the women involved in this business even less protected. Protect those who work at'adult entertainment business' and DO NOT repeal municipal code section 17.31. Chris Rohloff 205 E.
