LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m.on February 8,2011,in the Council Chambers of City Hall,515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1507 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, generally located at 712 South 16t' Street, is proposed to be
rezoned by ordinance from Highway-Oriented Commercial(HOC) to Residential High Density(RH).
Real Estate Description: Commencing at the Northeast Corner of Parcel N; thence S00005'21"E,
816.91 feet along the East line thereof to the Point of Beginning; thence S00°05'21"E,458.22 feet to
the Southeast Corner of said Parcel N; thence S89048'46"W, 667.11 feet to the Southwest Corner of
said Parcel N; thence N00°03'43"E, 340.40 feet along the West line thereof; thence N78°54'57"E,
312.09 feet; thence N76°34'24"E, 258.40 feet; thence S90°00'00"E, 108.42 feet to the Point of
Beginning, containing 6.22 acres; and,
The East Half(E1/2) of the Southeast Quarter(SE1/4) of the Northeast Quarter(NE1/4) of Section
15,Township 83 North,Range 24 West of the 51h P.M.,Iowa,except land deeded to the State of Iowa
for Relocated Primary Highway No. U.S. 30, and except Parcel "Q" in the East Half(E1/2) of the
Southeast Quarter (SE1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE1/4) of Section 15, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5'P.M., City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, as shown on the"Plat of Survey"
filed in the office of the Recorder, Story County, Iowa, on August 19, 2004, as Inst. No. 04-11556,
Slide 216, Page 1, containing 1.27 acres.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the February 8, 2011, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Rezoning of property located at 712 South 16th Street from Highway-Oriented
Commercial (HOC) to Residential High Density (RE)
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval (4-0-1 abstention) of this rezoning
request at its meeting of January 19, 2011.
The City Council will take action on the rezoning request at the meeting scheduled for February 8, 2011.
The labels for the 200' notification are attached.
A copy of the map for the area under consideration is attached.
