HomeMy WebLinkAboutA010 - Email from Planning, questions above hearing process Cindy L Hollar/COA To Diane R Voss/COA@COA 03/25/2011 12:14 PM cc Jeff D Benson/COA@COA bcc Subject Rezoning Question Follow-up Diane, Jeff said he remembers from the Council meeting that Doug indicated to the Council that they couldn't act upon the ordinance that night because a new legal description was needed, which he thought meant it wouldn't have to go through the public hearing process again and that only a new legal description was needed because we are now rezoning a smaller area. (Maybe this is really about sending 200' notice versus whatever it is you do for the newspaper?) So it sounds like Doug is the one that we need to ask about the rezoning item. With regard to the Urban Revite/Facade Grant program, Jeff is thinking that we could ask Council to pass a resolution on April 12 setting a date for public hearing for this item. The text amendment item for same area is a report back to Council on possible text amendments before it goes through the P&Z/Council approval process. Let me know what we need to do for these items. And if you do need to do another public hearing is there enough time for the April 12 meeting? Thank you for your help and clarification on these items! However, we do need to provide notice of public hearing by publication and by regular mail (30 days in advance) to the addresses in the proposed area for the expanded URA. I don't believe that the Council has yet set a date for public hearing on the URA, so I think that would be next step. Jeff, I still need the legal description for the revised area so that I can prepare the resolution and notices. Doug Marek Ames City Attorney 515 Clark Avenue P.O.
