LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on June 12, 2007, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1507 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,located at 1400 South Bell Avenue,is proposed to be rezoned
by ordinance from Agricultural (A-1)to General Industrial (G-I):
Real Estate Description: That part of Outlot W,Dayton Park Subdivision,Fourth Addition,City of
Ames,Story County,Iowa,described as follows:Commencing at the Southwest Corner of said Outlot
W; thence S89°55'36"E, 708.80 feet along the Southerly line of said Outlot W to the Northwest
Corner of Lot 2,Dayton Park Subdivision,Third Addition,in said City of Ames,said point also being
the Point of Beginning;thence continuing S89°55'36"E, 17.80 feet along said Southerly line;thence
N00°02'21"E, 666.14 feet to a point on the Northerly line of said Outlot W; thence S89°21'50"W,
127.37 feet along said Northerly line; thence S09°19'19"E, 673.60 feet to the Point of Beginning;
containing 1.11 acres.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the June 12,2007,Council meeting
to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Rezoning of property generally located at 1400 South Bell Avenue from Agricultural
(A-1) to General Industrial (G-I). The purpose of this rezoning is to move the dividing
line between the A-1 zone and the G-I zone to follow proposed lot lines to avoid zoning a
portion of the lots as A-1 and the remaining portion as G-I.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will take action on the above-described request at the meeting
scheduled for May 16, 2007.
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at the meeting scheduled for June 12,
2007.
The labels for the 200' notification are attached.
A copy of the location map for the area under consideration is attached.
The legal description for this area is attached.
