You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on October 24, 2006, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue,Ames, Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1507 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, generally located in Sunset Ridge Subdivision,zoned as"RH"
(Residential High Density) is proposed to be rezoned to "FS-RL" (Suburban Residential Low-Density)
and the real estate zoned as"CVCN"(Convenience Commercial Node)is proposed to be rezoned to"FS-
RL" (Suburban Residential Low-Density).

SUBJECT: Sunset Ridge Revised Master Plan and Rezoning
The developer is requesting that all land zoned as "RH" (Residential High Density), which was planned
for the construction of multiple-family housing, be rezoned to "FS-RL" (Suburban Residential
Low-Density). "FS-RL" is the same zoning as all of the lots in this subdivision, which are planned for
or are already developed with single-family detached houses.
The developer is also requesting that a portion of the area that was planned for commercial
development, and is zoned as "CVCN" (Convenience Commercial Node), be rezoned to "FS-RL"
(Suburban Residential Low-Density) to allow the construction of single-family detached houses instead
of buildings for commercial businesses.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will take action on the above-described request at the meeting
scheduled for October 4, 2006.
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at the meeting scheduled for October
24, 2006.
