LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County,Iowa,will meet
at 7:00 p.m. on May 23, 2006, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa,to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa,
by changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1507
of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,formally planned as street right-of-way to extend Harrison
Road to the east and across the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, is proposed to be rezoned by
ordinance from"FS-RM"(Residential Medium Density)to"FS-RL"(Residential Low Density).{
Real Estate Description: That part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 28,Township 84 North,
Range 24 West of the 5"' P.M., City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 28; thence
N89°54'05"E, 527.01 feet along the North line of the Northeast Quarter of Section 28; thence
S27°50'38"E, 1,157.51 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence continuing S27°50'38"E, 147.62
feet; thence S62°09'22"W, 839.93 feet to a point on a 1,000-foot radius, non-tangent curve,
concave Northeasterly;thence Northwesterly 45.35 feet along said curve,having a chord bearing
N29°09'00"W, 43.35 feet; thence N27°50'39"W, 67.88 feet to a point on a 1,000-foot radius
curve, concave Northeasterly, thence Northwesterly 34.42 feet along said curve, having a chord
bearing of N28°49'52"W,34.41 feet;thence N62°09'22"E,841.57 feet to the Point of Beginning,
containing 2.85 acres.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office
of the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the May 23, 2006, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Request of Uthe Development Co., LLC to approve rezoning of land from "FS-RM"
(Residential Medium Density) to "FS-RL" (Residential Low Density) for the purpose of
creating more lots for the construction of single family detached houses. The land
proposed for rezoning is land that was formerly planned as street right-of-way to extend
Harrison Road to the east and across the Union Pacific railroad tracks; and
Request of Uthe Development Co., LLC to approve a revision to the Master Plan for
Northridge Heights Subdivision generally located north of Bloomington Road and North
and east of George Washington Carver Avenue.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will take action on the above-described requests at the meeting
scheduled for May 17, 2006.
The City Council will take action on the above-described requests at the meeting scheduled for May 23,
2006.
