AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE EAST UNIVERSITY
IMPACTED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA.
BE IT ORDAINED,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa, that:
Section One. The land described as:
Beginning at the NE corner of Section 9 T83N R24W,thence west along the north section
line a distance of 1891.72 feet more or less to a point on the centerline of Lynn Avenue,
thence south along said centerline a distance of 1098.11 feet to the northeast corner of
Duthie's Subdivision thence westerly along the north line of said subdivision a distance of
565.11 feet to the northwest corner of said subdivision, said corner being on the centerline
of Stanton Avenue,thence north along said centerline a distance of 23.5 feet to a point on
the north lot line of Lot 16 of Parker's Addition extended east to said centerline,thence west
along said lot line a distance 206.9 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 16,thence south
along the west line of said Lot 16 a distance of 66 feet thence west a distance of 30 feet
thence south a distanced of 44.5 feet thence east a distance of 15 feet thence north a distance
of 2 feet thence east a distance of 15 feet to a point on the west line of said Lot 16 thence
south along said lot line a distance of 112.5 feet to a point on the centerline of Knapp Street
thence south 90 feet more or less to a point on the south line of Lot 1 of W.T. Smith's
Addition thence east along the south line of said Lot 1 a distance of 190 feet more or less
to a point on the centerline of Stanton Avenue thence north along said centerline extended
to a point on the centerline of Knapp Street thence east along said centerline a distance of
1131.41 feet more or less to the centerline of Ash Avenue,said centerline also being the east
line of the west half of NE`/4 of said Section 9,thence north along said centerline a distance
of 191.2 feet more or less to a point 131.4 feet south of the northwest corner of W.H
Donaldson's Subdivision thence east a distance of 363 feet to a point on the west line of Lot
2 of College Heights Addition thence north along said lot line a distance of 5.2 feet thence
east a distance of 156 feet more or less to the north centerline of Greeley Street thence east
along said centerline a distance of 895 feet more or less to the east line of said Section 9
thence north along the east line of said Section 9 a distance of 1029 feet more or less to the
point of beginning, excluding Lots 1, 2 and 3 of the NE %4 of the NE '/4 of said Section 9.
is hereby designated,pursuant to Chapter 404, Code of Iowa, as the East University Impacted Urban
Revitalization Area.
Section Two. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
publication as required by law.
