LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County,Iowa,will meet
at 7:00 p.m. on March 7,2006, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa,to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa,
by changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1507
of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,generally located west of relocated South Dayton Avenue
and north of Southeast 16' Street, is proposed to be rezoned from "HOC" (Highway-Oriented
Commercial)to "A" (Agricultural).
Real Estate Description:A portion of East Hickory Park Subdivision,more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at the Northeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5"P.M., City of Ames, Story County,
Iowa;thence N00°15'03"W a distance of 113.54 feet; thence N89°48'46"W a distance of 1,300
feet more or less to a point on the centerline of said Section 12;thence south along the centerline
of said Section 12 a distance of 684.05 feet more or less;thence S89°48'46"E a distance of 439.45
feet;thence N00°00'00"W a distance of 668.00 feet;thence S89°48'46"E a distance of 300.00 feet;
thence S66015'01"E distance of 539.20 feet to a point on the west right-of-way line of South
Dayton Avenue;thence northeasterly along said right-of-way line a distance of 110.00 feet;thence
N00°15'03"W a distance of 30.68 feet to the Point of Beginning.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office
of the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the March 7, 2006, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Rezoning of a Portion of Outlot B, East Hickory Park Subdivision, from "HOC"

The Planning and Zoning Commission will take action on the above-described request at the meeting
scheduled for February 15, 2006.
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at the meeting scheduled for March 7,
2006.
The area is generally located west of relocated South Dayton Avenue and north of Southeast 16th Street.
The labels for the 200' notification are attached.
A map of the area under consideration is attached.
The legal description for this area will be sent to you separately by February 15, 2006 for your submittal
to the newspaper on February 16, 2006.
