ORDINANCE NO. 3855
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE
CITY OF AMES,IOWA,AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 29.301 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,BY CHANGING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED AND SHOWN ON
SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.1507 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, as provided for in
Section 29.301 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the
boundaries of the districts established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by
Section 29.1507 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames,Iowa, as follows: That the real estate,
generally located between Dawes Drive and U.S.Highway 69(Calhoun Park),is rezoned from"A"
(Agricultural) to "S-GA" (Government-Airport).
Real Estate Description: Parcel `U':
A part of Lots 2 and 5 in the subdivision of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section
27,Township 84 North,Range 24 West of the 5th P.M.,Story County,Iowa,being more particularly
described as follows: Commencing at the Northeast Corner of said Section 27; thence
N89024'33"W, 661.89 feet along the north line of said Section 27 to a point on the easterly right of
way line of Dawes Drive;thence S22°33'55"W,324.45 feet along said line to the point of beginning;
thence continuing along said line S06°37'31"W,97.42 feet to the beginning of a curve tangent to said
line; thence southerly, 219.35 feet along the curve concave to the east, having a radius of 1096.00
feet and a central angle of 11'28'02" and being subtended by a chord which bears S00°53'30"W,
218.99 feet; thence S89°50'59"E, 331.67 feet to a point on the westerly right of way line of U.S.
Highway#69; thence following said line N06°03'24"W, 132.61 feet; thence N09°40'10"W, 69.51
feet to a point on the south line of the north 6.8 rods of said Lot 5;thence N89°11'O 1"W, 165.08 feet
along said line to a point on the west line of said Lot 5; thence N00°11'48"E, 111.01 feet to the
Northwest Corner of said Lot 5; thence N88°43'00"W, 126.71 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 1.84 acres.
Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its adoption and
publication as provided by law.
