HomeMy WebLinkAboutA001 - Council Action Form dated September 28, 2004 { Ala ' b Item # UZ G Date: _§p�t,4mber 28 2004 COUNCIL ACTION FORM SUBJECT: REVISION OF PARKING REGULATIONS IN THE 2400 BLOCK OF LINCOLN WAY BACKGROUND: Staff received a request from Lon Gretillat, Senior Vice President of Kingland Systems at 2420 Lincoln Way in the old Ames Theatre relative to the loading zones along Lincoln Way. Mr. Gretillat asked that we relocate the loading zone at 2420 Lincoln Way to 2428 Lincoln Way, which is in front of People's Bar and Grill. Mr. Gretillat provided staff with a letter showing that the business owners and property owner on this block have agreed to his proposal. There will be no net change in parking spaces since the parking meters will be moved from one location to the other. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Direct the City Attorney to develop an ordinance to remove 2420 Linco►n Way from the list of truck loading zones in Section 18.30 of the Municipal Code, and add 2428 Lincoln Way to the list of truck loading zones. Also, direct the City Attorney to submit a resolution to update the parking meter map. 2. Reject this proposed ordinance. MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED ACTION: It is the recommendation of the City Manager that the City Council adopt alternative number one, thereby directing the City Attorney to develop an ordinance to remove 2420 Lincoln Way from the list of truck loading zones in Section 18.30 of the Municipal Code, and add 2428 Lincoln Way to the list of truck loading zones. Also, direct the City Attorney to submit a resolution to update the parking meter map. One issue remains that we wish to resolve;the moving of the loading zone from its current location to the space in front of People's Bar and Grill.
