The designated snow routes are on CyRide routes and major streets. The parking restrictions are put in place after a 2" snowfall. The regulations greatly assist in snow plowing operations. City of Ames staff met to discuss snow routes and recommend the following changes be implemented for the 2004-2005 winter season: Add Dickinson Avenue from Steinbeck Street to Mortensen Road, and Steinbeck Street from Dickinson Avenue to South Dakota Avenue. This route will facilitate CyRide in this area. Add Harrison Road from George W. Career Avenue to Chilton Avenue, and Chilton Avenue from Harrison Road to Bloomington Road. These collector streets in Northridge Heights Subdivision are now completed. Delete Toronto Street from Georgia Avenue to North Dakota Avenue, and Georgia Avenue from Toronto Street to Ontario Street. These streets are local streets and are not on CyRide routes. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Direct the City Attorney to develop an ordinance to add sections of Dickinson Avenue, Steinbeck Street, Chilton Avenue, and Harrison Road to the list of snow routes and delete sections of Georgia Avenue and Toronto Streets from the list of snow routes. 2.
