ORDINANCE NO. 3784
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING AN O-GSE,SOUTHEAST ENTRYWAY GATEWAY
OVERLAY DISTRICT; REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A
PENALTY;AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED,by the City Council for the City of Ames,Iowa:
Section One. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,established by Section 29.301 of the Ames
Municipal Code, is amended, in the manner authorized by Section 29.301 Ames Municipal Code, to show that land
described as:
Commencing at the southwest corner of Section 7 T83N R23W of the 5'h P.M Ames,Story County,
Iowa; thence east along the south line of said Section 7 a distance of 1307.36 feet to the Point of
Beginning; thence north 40 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 6, Second Addition to Dayton Park
Subdivision to Ames,Iowa;thence north along the east line of said Lot 6 a distance of 270.02 feet to
the northeast corner of said Lot 6, said point being the southwest corner of Lot 2, Dayton Park
Subdivision,3`d Addition;thence northerly along the west line of said Lot 2 a distance of 337.29 feet
to the northwest comer of said Lot 2,said point being on the south line of Outlot W of Dayton Park
Subdivision,4"Addition;thence west along the south line of said Outlot W a distance of 708.71 feet
to the southwest comer of said Outlot W;thence north along the west line of said Outlot W a distance
of 182.99 feet to the northeast comer of Lot 3,Dayton Park Subdivision, I"Addition;thence west
along the north line of said Lot 3 a distance of 580 feet,more or less, to a point on the west line of
said Section 7;thence north along the west line of said Section 7 a distance of 28.74 feet,more or less;
thence west a distance of 80 feet to the northeast corner of Lot 13 South Gateway Development;
thence west a distance of 2545.57 feet,more or less,along the north lines of Lots 13,7,6,5 and 4 of
said subdivision,extended to a point on the west line of the SE'/4 of Section 12,T83N R24W;thence
south along the east line of said section a distance of 869 feet,more or less,to the southwest corner
of said section;thence west along the south line of said Section 12 a distance of 432.7 feet;thence
south a distance of 40 feet to the northwest comer of Parcel G of the NW'/4 Section 13,T83N R24W;
thence southwesterly along the westerly line of said Parcel G a distance of 671.37 feet to the southwest
corner of said Parcel G;thence south 245.4 feet,more or less,to the centerline of U.S.Highway 30;
thence east a distance of 2057 feet,more or less,along said centerline to the centerline of relocated
South Dayton Avenue;thence south along the centerline ofrelocated South Dayton Avenue a distance
of 925.08 feet to the centerline of Southeast 18'h Street;thence east along the centerline of Southeast
18'h Street a distance of 1342.67 feet to the east line of said Section 13;thence north along said section
line a distance of 1087.88 feet to the centerline of the westbound lanes of U.S.Highway 30;thence
east along said centerline a distance of 575.47 feet to the end taper point of the southbound to
westbound ramp,Interstate 35 and U.S.Highway 30 interchange;thence northeasterly following the
centerline of said ramp a distance of 813.92 feet to a point on the south line of Section 7, T83N
R23W; thence west along the south line of said Section 7 a distance of 651.25 feet to the point of
beginning.
shall be subject to the applicability of the O-GSE, Southeast Entryway Gateway Overlay District regulations stated in
Section 29.1107, of the Ames Municipal Code,as an overlay to the established zoning district regulations.
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a municipal infraction punishable
as set out in Section 29.1603 of the Municipal Code.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict,if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as
required by law.
