ORDINANCE NO. 3776
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE
CITY OF AMES,IOWA,AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 29.301 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,BY CHANGING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED AND SHOWN ON
SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.1506 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, as provided for in
Section 29.301 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the
boundaries of the districts established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by
Section 29.1506 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: That the real estate
for Fountainview Subdivision,generally located south of Mortensen Road across from the new Ames
Middle School site,is rezoned from"A"(Agricultural)to"RM"(Residential Medium Density)and
"RH" (Residential High Density).
Real Estate Description:
"RM" (RESIDENTIAL MEDIUM DENSITY)
That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 8, and that part of the
Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 17,all in Township 83 North,Range 24 West
of the 5th P.M.,Story County,Iowa being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the
Northeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 8; thence
S00055'52"E, 1322.15 feet to the South Quarter Corner of said Section 8, said point also being the
North Quarter Corner of said Section 17;thence S00°30'30"E,420.39 feet along the east line of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 17 to a point on the northerly right of way line of U.S. Highway
#30;thence following said line S89°58'46"W,261.71 feet;thence N00°12'01"W,438.39 feet;thence
N89007'28"W, 135.02 feet; thence N00°12'02"W, 922.66 feet; thence N37046'08"W, 164.01 feet;
thence N89°47'59"E, 96.36 feet; thence N00°12'02"W, 254.37 feet to a point on the northerly line
of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 8;thence S 89°14'47"E,381.28 feet
to the point of beginning, containing 14.36 acres more or less.

Northwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 8; thence
S890 14'47"E,945.56 feet along the northerly line of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter
of said Section 8; thence S00°12'02"E, 254.37 feet; thence S89°47'59"W, 96.36 feet; thence
S37046'08"E,164.01 feet;thence S00°12'02"E,922.66 feet;thence S89007'28"E,135.02 feet;thence
S00°12'01"E,438.39 feet to a point on the northerly right of way line of U.S. Highway#30,thence
following said line S89°58'46"W, 174.07 feet; thence N89°31'14"W, 198.35 feet to the beginning
of a curve; thence westerly, 638.69 feet along said curve having a radius of 3695.00 feet, concave
to the north, and a central angle of 9054'13" and being subtended by a chord which bears
N83033'08"W, 637.89 feet; thence N54'01'26"W, 98.08 feet to a point on the west line of the
Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section
17; thence N00°39'53"W, 310.23 feet to the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 17, said point also being the Southwest Corner of the Southeast
Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 8;thence N00°02'35"W, 1318.84 feet to the point
of beginning, containing 38.88 acres more or less.
Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its adoption and
publication as provided by law.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of July 2004.
