LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County,Iowa,will meet at
7:00 p.m. on March, 23, 2004, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa,to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by
changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate located at 3314 Stange Road is proposed to be rezoned by
ordinance from"A" (Agricultural)to "F-S RL" (Suburban Residential Low Density).
Real Estate Description: That part of the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28,
Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5r' P.M., Story County, Iowa, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said North Half of the Southeast Quarter; thence
N8902145"E, 1321.39 feet along the Northerly line of said North Half of the Southeast Quarter to
a point on the Northerly extension of the East right-of-way line of Stange Road in said Story County;
thence S00°00'00"E,60.00 feet along said Northerly extension to a point on the Southerly right-of-
way line of Bloomington Road in said Story County, said point also being the point of beginning;
thence N89°2145"E, 611.63 feet along said Southerly right-of-way line to a point on the Westerly
right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad(formerly the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad);
thence S2751'12"E, 1412.53 feet(recorded at S2751'25"E) along said Westerly right-of-way line
to a point on the Southerly line of said North Half of the Southeast Quarter, said point being 21.85
feet Westerly,measured along said Southerly line, from the Southeast corner of said North Half of
the Southeast Quarter;thence S89°24'48"W, 1271.61 feet along said Southerly line to apoint on said
East right-of-way line of Stange Road;thence N00°00'00"W, 1255.10 feet along said East right-of-
way line to the point of beginning,containing 27.14 acres and subject to any easements recorded or
unrecorded.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office
of the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the March 23, 2004, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will take action on the above-described request at their meeting
of March 3, 2004.
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at their meeting of March 23, 2004.
The zoning is being changed from "A" (Agricultural) to "F-S RL" (Suburban Residential Low Density)
and includes the approval of a Master Plan for the development of single-family detached home in the
Taylor Glen Subdivision.
The labels for the 200' notification are attached.
