HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Prohibiting Parking on a portion of Bell Avenue and a portion of Ford Street r ORDINANCE NO. 3736 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS 18.31(23)AND 18.31(93)AS THEY NOW EXIST AND ENACTING NEW SUBSECTIONS 18.31(23)AND 18.31(93)FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROHIBITING PARKING ON A PORTION OF BELL AVENUE AND A PORTION OF FORD STREET;REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED,by the City Council for the City of Ames,Iowa,that: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by repealing Subsections 18.31(23)and 18.31(93)as they now exist and re-enacting said subsections as follows: "(23) BELL AVENUE. (a) Parking is prohibited within thirty-five(35)feet of any driveway. (b) Parking is prohibited at all times on both sides of Bell Avenue from Graham Street to the south end of Bell Avenue. (c) Parking is prohibited at all times on the west side of Bell Avenue from the centerline of Ford Street south a distance of 260 feet. (d) Parking is prohibited at all times on the east side of Bell Avenue from the centerline of Ford Street south a distance of 550 feet. (93) FORD STREET. (a) Parking is prohibited within thirty-five feet of any driveway. (b) Parking is prohibited on the north side of Ford Street at all times from the centerline of Bell Avenue to a point 200 feet west of Bell Avenue. (c) Parking is prohibited on the south side of Ford Street at all times from the centerline of Bell Avenue to a point 375 feet west of Bell Avenue. " Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a simple misdemeanor punishable as set out by law. Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict,if any. Section Four.
