LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m.on August 26,2003,in the Council Chambers of City Hall,515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate located at 612 and 626 South 16`' Street is proposed to be
rezoned by ordinance from "HOC" (Highway Oriented Commercial) to "RH" (Residential High
Density).
REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION:
2.71 acres, more or less, located at 612 South 16'Street: the West 240 Feet, South 470
Feet, North 520 Feet of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 14,
Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5''P.M., Story County, Iowa; and,
1.98 acres, more or less, located at 626 South 16' Street: the East 180 Feet, West 420
Feet, South 470 Feet, and North 520 Feet of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 14,Township 84 North,Range 24 West of the 5"'P.M., Story County,
Iowa.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the August 26, 2003, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Rezoning of Property Located at 612 and 626 South 16th Street.
The Planning and Zoning Commission took action on the above-described request at their meeting of
July 16, 2003. (This is the property that was attached to the 712 South 16th Street rezoning request that
was approved at the July 16, 2003 P&Z meeting.)
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at their meeting of August 26, 2003.
The legal description and the labels for the 200' notification are attached.
The zoning is being changed from "HOC" (Highway Oriented Commercial) to "RH" (Residential High
Density).
