Subject: Garbage Containers
Ted,
In your weekend packets you'll see that John Klaus has prepared a draft garbage container ordinance.
I wanted you to know that the staff will be reviewing this draft before we roll it out at a Council meeting.
Since we don't change our garbage handling regulations very often, we also want to touch bases with the
local haulers, who are some of our most important partners in this business!
We'll try to have the ordinance to you at your second meeting in July.

Subject: Garbage Containers
At the City Council's request, John Klaus has drafted a proposed ordinance to require"hard"containers
for"garbage." I will send a hard copy to each of you.
I will now ask Lynette to arrange a 1-hour meeting for us as staff to discuss this where each person can
bring their input and comments. John Pohlman has suggested that we then take this issue to the haulers
before an ordinance is presented to City Council for their approval, so as to get the benefit of insights from
those"closest to the problem." When we get together we may identify other"users"who we should touch
bases with.
Bob
Note to John Klaus -- I've tried to respect your time here; but if you want to attend this meeting,
please let Lynette or me know.
