LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m.on August 12,2003,in the Council Chambers of City Hall,515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, located at 1021 Airport Road, is proposed to be rezoned by
ordinance from "GI" (General Industrial)to "HOC" (Highway-Oriented Commercial):
Real Estate Description: A Replat of Lots 1 and 8 in Southern Hills Industrial Park,
Second Addition to the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, being more particularly
described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast Corner of said Lot 8; thence
S89"43'43"W, 309.94 feet along the north line of Airport Road to the Southwest
Corner of said Lot 8; thence N00°00'07"W, 227.68 feet to the Northwest Corner of
said Lot 8; thence N89°43'16"E, 99.69 feet along the north line of said Lot 8; thence
N000 16'44"E,56.29 feet;thence N47°15'24"E, 105.10 feet;thence N22°57'07"E,93.04
feet; thence S 81°19'19"E, 29.09 feet; thence N23°49'31"E, 68.69 feet; thence
N80047'49"E,41.15 feet to a point on the east line of said Lot 1;thence S00°00'24"W,
505.03 feet to the point of beginning, containing 2.47 acres.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the August 12, 2003, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described request at their
meeting of July 16, 2003.
The City Council will take action on the above-described request at their meeting of August 12, 2003.

The labels for the 200' notification are also attached.
The zoning is being changed from "GI" (General Industrial) to "HOC" (Highway-Oriented
Commercial).
