HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Off-Street Parking Requirements for Go-Cart Track Facilities ORDINANCE NO. 37�2( _ AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 29.406(2)AND RE-ENACTING THAT SUBSECTION REVISED FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING THE ZONING REGULATION TO STATE A SPECIFIC OFF-STREET PARKING SPACE REQUIREMENT FOR GO-CART TRACK FACILITIES;REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED,by the City Council for the City of Ames,Iowa,that: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by repealing Subsection 29.406(2)and re-enacting the same revised to state as follows: "(2) Required Parking Spaces. Off-street parking spaces must be provided in accordance with the minimum requirements set forth in Table 29.406(2)below,for any new building constructed and for any new use established. (a) The off-street parking space requirement for a use not specifically mentioned herein is the same as required for a use of similar nature. (b) Whenever a building erected or established after the effective date of this Section is enlarged in floor area,number of employees,number of dwelling units,seating capacity or otherwise to create a need for an increase of 10%or more in the number of existing parking spaces, such spaces shall be provided on the basis of such enlargement or change. (c) Whenever a building existing prior to the effective date of this Section is enlarged to the extent of 50%or more in the floor area,said building or use shall then and thereafter comply with the parking requirements set forth herein. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be a municipal infraction punishable by a penalty of$500 for a person's first violation,and a penalty of$750.00 for each repeat violation. Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict,if any. Section Four.
