LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on June 10, 2003, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, generally located at 2200 Timberland Road, is proposed to
be rezoned by ordinance from"A" (Agricultural) to "RU (Residential Low Density).
REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION:Lot 9,Christensen's Timber Lane Subdivision in
Section 16,Township 83 North,Range 24 West of the 5`t'P.M.,Iowa also known and
described as commencing at a point 432 feet North of the center of Section 16,
Township 83 North,Range 24 West of the 5'P.M.,Iowa; thence South 88°50' West
82.6 feet; thence North 56°27' West 51.4 feet; thence North 74°26' West 85.6 feet;
thence North 39°55' East 77.7 feet; thence North 32'01' East 100 feet; thence North
13°34' West 425.7 feet; thence North 35 feet to the center of the creek; thence North
87°32' East 207.5 feet along the said center of the creek to the East line of the NWl/a,
Section 16; thence South along said East line 652.4 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 2.45 acres more or less.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the June 10,2003,Council meeting
to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: 2200 Timberland Area Annexation
The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described request at their
meeting of May 21, 2003. The City Council will take action on the above-described request at their
meeting of June 10, 2003. I will let you know on Thursday (May 22nd) what action the Commission
took.
This property is generally located at 2200 Timberland Road.
The legal description for the annexation request is attached.
The labels for the 200' notification is also attached.
The annexation request is not within two miles of another city and will not create an island.
The City is also initiating therezoning or this property from Agricultural to Low Density.
