Mostly we can give our opinion, but we will probably not be able to stop them. 1, personally, voiced my displeasure with the other apartments, but received very little support from the planning and zoning commission. I still have similar concerns about traffic, especially on and off Duff Ave., and adequate parking. I am also worried that city planners are not looking at this rezoning within the context of their other long-range proposals. I know the city planners were looking at proposals of what to do if(hopefully we never have to worry about it)the nursery is closed by the state. One proposal was to create a major intersection at Kitty Hawk (Bread Store),which we know is the last thing our neighborhood and Duff Ave. needs. Does connecting the nursery area with Crystal right where the apartments are proposed alleviate the need for a major intersection at Kitty Hawk? How can you express your opinion? 1) Call the Department of Planning and Housing at 239-5400 2)Attend the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on January 15 @ 7:00 in Council Chambers. Take Care, Juan Foegen ifoegen(a)ieee.org
