AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 6.5 AND 6.9(4) THEREOF
AND RE-ENACTING THE SAME REVISED;REPEALING ANY AND ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE
EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ENACTED,by the City Council for the City of Ames,Iowa,that:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by
repealing Sections 6.5 and 6.9(4)and re-enacting the same as follows:
"Sec.6.5. SECOND WARD DESCRIBED.
The Second Ward consists of that part of the City of Ames described as beginning at the
point where the west right-of-way line of U.S.Hwy 69 intersects with the north corporate limits of
the City;thence south along said right-of-way line to the southeast corner of Ada Hayden Heritage
Park; thence east to the centerline of Grand Avenue; thence south along the centerline of Grand
Avenue to Twenty-Eighth Street;thence east on Twenty-Eighth Street to Luther Drive;thence south
and east along Luther Drive to Jensen Avenue; thence south on Jensen Avenue to Twenty-Fourth
Street;thence west on Twenty-Fourth Street to the centerline of Grand Avenue;thence south along
the centerline of Grand Avenue to the intersection with Lincoln Way,thence west along Lincoln Way
to the centerline of Elwood Drive; thence north along Elwood Drive to College Creek; thence
continuing along College Creek to the centerline of Wallace Road to the centerline of Pammel Drive;
thence west on Pammel Drive to the centerline of Stange Road;thence north along the centerline of
Stange Road to Squaw Creek; thence north and west along the centerline of Squaw Creek to the
northwest corporate limits;thence following the northwest corporate limits to the point of beginning.

(4) Second Ward,Precinct No.4 consists of that part of the Second Ward beginning
at the west right-of-way line of U.S.Hwy 69 where it intersects with the north corporate limits;thence
south along said west right-of-way line to a point on Dawes Drive that intersects with the north
corporate limits of the city;then south along the centerline of Dawes Drive to Adams Street;then west
along the centerline of Adams Street to Calhoun Avenue;then south along the centerline of Calhoun
Avenue to Top-O-Hollow Road;then west along the centerline of Top-O-Hollow Road to Hoover
Avenue;then south along the centerline of Hoover Avenue to Twenty-Fourth Street;then east along
the centerline of Twenty-Fourth Street to Northwestern Avenue;then south along the centerline of
Northwestern Avenue to Twentieth Street;then west along the centerline of Twentieth Street to the
Union Pacific railroad tracks,then north along the centerline of the Union Pacific railroad right-of-
way to the northern corporate limits; then north and east along the corporate limits to the point of
beginning."
Section Two. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict,if any.
Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as
required by law.
