LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on May 14, 2002, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,generally located at the northwest corner of the intersection
of Southeast 16r' Street and relocated South Dayton Avenue, is rezoned from "A" (Agricultural) to
"HOC" (Highway-Oriented Commercial).
REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION:
Lot 1 of Wheelock Subdivision, an Agricultural Plat of Parcel D in the Southwest
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West
of the 5' P.M., Story County, Iowa, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
of said Section 12; thence N00°15'03"W, 1,279.75 feet along the east line of the
Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 12 to a point on a curve
concave to the east having a radius of 1,005.00 feet, a central angle of 37°09'57" and
being subtended by a chord which bears S18°34'53"W, 640.54 feet; thence
southwesterly and southerly,65 1.9 1 feet along said curve;thence S00°15'03"E,671.92
feet;thence S89°48'46"E,206.77 feet to the point of beginning,containing 5.15 acres
which includes 0.33 acres of existing public right of way.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the May 14,2002,Council meeting
to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJECT: Motion to Approve/Deny the Annexation and Rezoning of Property from "A"
(Agricultural) to "HOC" (Highway-Oriented Commercial), Generally Located at the
Northwest Corner of the Intersection of Southeast 16th Street and Relocated South

The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described request(s) at their
