LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m.on March 26,2002,in the Council Chambers of City Hall,515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, located at 2503 Hoover Avenue, is proposed to be rezoned
by ordinance from "S-GA" (Government/Airport District) to"RL" (Residential Low Density).
REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION: A parcel of land in the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 34, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5`' P.M., City of Ames, Story
County, Iowa, described in a Warrant Deed recorded in the Office of the Story County Recorder on
December 22, 1956, in Book 90, Page 280 as follows:
.One square acre in the southeast corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section
34,Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5' P.M., Story County, Iowa.
This parcel can be more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 34; thence S89°29'49"W, 209.08 feet along the south line of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 34;thence NO°01'17"W,208.74 feet;thence N89°30'28"E,208.88
feet to the east line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 34; thence
S0004'30"E, 208.71 feet along the said east line to the Point of Beginning, containing 1.00 acres.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the March 26, 2002, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.

SUBJEM Motion to Approve/Deny the Rezoning of Property Located at 2503 Hoover Avenue from
"S-GA" (Government/Airport District)to "RL" (Residential Low Density).
Recommendation to Approve/Deny the Annexation and Rezoning of Land Generally
Located North of the Stone Brooke Subdivision, East of Grant Avenue, South of 190th
Street, and West of Highway 69 from "A" (Agricultural) to "S-GA" (Government/Airport
District) and from "RL" (Residential Low Density) and "F-PRD" (Planned Residence
District)to "S-GA" (Government/Airport District).
The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described requests at their
meeting of March 6, 2002. The City Council will be taking action on the above-described requests at
their meeting of March 26, 2002.
The legal description for the above-described roperties are attached. I have also put these legal
descriptions on the "T" drive in the "Clerk" MW. The legal description for 2503 Hoover Avenue is
called "Water Tower Place Rezoning Legal Description - 2002"' The legal descriptions for Hallett's
Quarry are "Hallett's Annexation Legal Description - 2002" and "Hallett's Rezoning Legal Description -
2002".
I have also attached labels for the 200' notification.
