LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County,Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on February 12, 2002, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, by
changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,generally located north of Bloomington Road and east of the
Union Pacific Railroad tracks, is proposed to be rezoned by ordinance from Residential Medium
Density (RM) to Residential Low Density (RL).
REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION: A portion of Outlot `W' of the Bloomington Heights
Subdivision, Plat 9, an official plat, City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, and generally located in the
North 1/2 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 28, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 51' P.M.,
Story County, Iowa, that is more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a point of reference at the Northeast corner of said Section 28;thence
N89048'57"W, 1131.88 feet along the North line of said Section 28 to the point of
beginning; thence S00011'03"W, 819.38 feet to a point;thence S62°34'30"W,373.48
feet to a point on the East right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad; thence
N27025'30"W, 1120.00 feet along said East right-of-way line to a point on the North
line of said Section 28;thence S89°48'57"E, 850 feet along said North line to the point
of beginning and containing 12.796 acres more or less.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the February 12, 2002, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.
