Box 811 Ames,IA 50010 Phone: 515-239-5105 October 9, 2001 LEGAL NOTICE You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at 7:00 p.m. on October 23,2001,in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: That the following described real estate, generally located on Adams Street, south of Hallett's Quarry and east of Stone Brooke Subdivision, is proposed to be rezoned by ordinance from"A"(Agricultural) to"FS-RL" (Suburban Residential Low Density). REAL ESTATE DESCRIPTION: Parcel"J": An irregular shaped portion of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa, more accurately described as follows: Commencing at an iron rod I.D. #8136 at the Northwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter(NW 1/4)of the Northeast Quarter(NE 1/4) of said Section 27; thence S00°00'15" E along the west line of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27, a distance of 490.24 feet to the point of beginning; thence easterly along a 385.00 feet radius curve concave northerly, a distance of 234.94 feet, said curve having a chord bearing of S79°07'38" E and a chord length of 231.31 feet; thence,N83°23'27" E, a distance of 124.27 feet; thence easterly along a 535.00 feet radius curve concave northerly, a distance of 71.60 feet, said curve having a chord bearing of N79°33'25"E and a chord length of 71.55 feet;thence,N75°43'22" E,a distance of 247.73 feet;thence, S83°48'16" E, a distance of 396.54 feet; thence, S 65°33'36" E, a distance of 176.07 feet; thence S46°38'35" E,a distance of 109.64 feet to the southwest corner of Lot 2 in the plat of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27 and to the east line of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27; thence, S00°06'48" E along the east line of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27, a distance of 622.50 feet to the southwest corner of the plat of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27 and to the southeast corner of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27;thence, S89°36'27"W along the south line of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27, a distance of 1296.48 feet to the southwest corner of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27; thence,N00°00'15" W along the west line of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27,a distance of 777.57 feet to the point of beginning,said tract of land being subject to and together with any and all easement of record. Resolution Approving/Denying a Planned Residence District Plan (PRD) for Property Located at 239 Campus Avenue. The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described request at their meeting of October 3, 2001. The City Council will be taking action on the above-described request at their meeting of October 23, 2001 The legal descriptions for the above- escribed properties are attached.
