Block- level counts of population and housing are available from three sources. First, block
Patent & Trademark counts are on the State Data Center's web site, with one file for each county in Excel (.xls)
Depository spreadsheet format. The files include onlythe basic data items you need for identifying census

CENSUS 2000 COUNT QUESTION RESOLUTION (CQR) PROGRAM
What - Local and tribal governments may file challenges to their census 2000 counts as part of
the U.S. Census Bureau's Count Question Resolution (CQR) program.
When - Challenges may be filed until September 30, 2003.
Acceptable Challenges- The CQR program will accept three types of challenges:
(1)Boundary corrections for functioning governmental units that were legally in effect on
Jai tiaiy 1, 2vvv^v;
(2) Geocoding corrections to put housing units and associated populations within the
correct boundaries; and
(3) Coverage corrections to add or delete specific living quarters and the people living in
them that were identified during census 2000 but erroneously included or excluded due to
processing errors.
Supporting Evidence- Challenges must be accompanied by supporting evidence:
(1) Boundary corrections must be shown on Census 2000 maps or other maps showing
Census 2000 block numbers and boundaries legally in effect as of January 1, 2000;
(2) Geocoding, housing unit, and group quarters challenges must identify the specific
Census 2000 state, county, census tract, and tabulation block(s)being contested and the
addresses of the contested units.
No Additional Data Collection- The Census Bureau will not collect additional data as part of
the CQR program. It will use only those data that were already collected as part of the census.
Notification of Corrections- The Census Bureau will respond to all questions and will notify all
affected governmental entities of any corrections to their official counts as a result of CQR.
