Dear Diane,
Dave Harvey and myself have re-reviewed the proposed new precinct and ward boundaries for the City
of Ames. We have determined another change in precinct numbering with some areas that had very little
changes in boundaries, We are working on designating a polling place for every anticipated precinct,
and we will maintain all that we can for the ease of the voters.
The proposed precinct numbers are the same except for last two listed: 3-4 and 3-5.
Proposed Precinct Number Suggested Precinct Number
Ames 4-1 Ames 4-4
Ames 4-2 Ames 4-5
Ames 4-3 Ames 4-3
Ames 4-4 Ames 4-1
Ames 4-5 Ames 4-2
Ames 3-1 Ames 3-2
Ames 3-2 Ames 3-5
Ames 3-3 Ames 3-3
Ames 3-4 stay as Ames 3-4
Ames 3-5 Ames 3-1
Thanks again for all your efforts on this project!

Dear Diane,
I have reviewed the proposed new precinct and ward boundaries for the City of Ames as a result of the
2000 Census. The standards required by the State of Iowa have been satisfied, and the population of the
precincts should be able to withstand growth where anticipated. My office will work on designating a
polling place for every anticipated precinct.
I would like to suggest that some of the precincts be renumbered. Currently, there are some precincts
with little or no changes in their boundaries which have been renumbered. Any change in a precinct's
number will require that every voter in the newly renumbered precinct be issued an updated voter
registration card. To limit this expense, I would like to suggest the following designations for precincts
in Wards 3 and 4:
Proposed Precinct Number Suggested Precinct Number
Ames 4-1 Ames 4-4
Ames 4-2 Ames 4-5
Ames 4-3 Ames 4-3
✓Ames 4-4 Ames 4-1
✓Ames 4-5 Ames 4-2
,,Ames 3-1 Ames 3-2
Ames 3-2 Ames 3-5
,/Ames 3-3 Ames 3-3
✓Ames 3-4 A=&z2 1 3
Ames 3-5 m#&4-4- -3
I appreciate the timeliness of the opportunity to review the Plan for Ames, and I look forward to the
public hearing. Thanks for all your efforts on this project!
Regards,
Mary Mosiman
