AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE CAMPUSTOWN URBAN
REVITALIZATION ARE
BE IT ordained,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa,that:
Section One. The land described as:
Campustown Area: Beginning at a point 33 feet north and 25 feet west of the northwest
corner of Lot 23,Parker's Addition,said point being on the north line of Section 9,T83N,
R24W,and also being on the centerline of Lynn Avenue;thence west a distance of 2,328.05
feet along said section line,said line also being the centerline of Lincoln Way,to a point 33
feet north of the northwest corner of Lot 1, Lee's Subdivision; thence south a distance of
213 feet to the southwest corner of said Lot 1;thence east 80.1 feet to the southeast corner
of said Lot 1; thence north 52 feet along the east line of said Lot 1; thence east a distance
of 133 feet to a point on the centerline of South Sheldon Avenue; thence south along said
centerline a distance of 339 feet;thence east a distance of 150 feet;thence north a distance
of 150 feet;thence east a distance of 118.6 feet;thence south a distance of 122.2 feet to the
southwest corner of Lot 4, Block 5, Auditor's Plat of Blocks 3, 4 and 5, Beardshear's
Addition and Walter's Subdivision;thence northeasterly a distance of approximately 336.64
feet to the southeast corner of Lot 1,Block 5,said addition;thence north along the east line
of said Lot 1 a distance of 66.65 feet to the southwest corner of Lot 10, Block 5, said
addition; thence east a distance of 166.6 feet along the south line of said Lot 10 extended
to the centerline of Hayward Avenue; thence south along said centerline a distance of
183.25 feet to the centerline of Chamberlain Street;thence west a distance of 20 feet;thence
south along the centerline of Hayward Avenue a distance of 213 feet to a point 33 feet west
of the southwest corner of Lot 7,Block 3,Auditor's Plat of Blocks 3,4 and 5,Beardshear's
Addition and Walter's Subdivision; thence east a distance of 189.75 feet to a point 8 feet
east of the southeast corner of Lot 14, Block 3, said addition, said point also being on the
centerline of Chamberlain Place; thence south along said centerline, extended, a distance
of 336 feet to a point 8 feet west of the southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Beardshear's
Addition;thence east a distance of 222.75 feet to a point on the centerline of Welch Avenue,
said point being 33 feet east of the southeast corner of said Lot l; thence north along said
centerline a distance of 202.34 feet to a point 33 feet west and 30 feet north of the southwest
corner of Lot 9,Block 1,Beardshear's Addition;thence east a distance of 183.7 feet to the
east line of said Lot 9 to a point 30 feet north of the southeast corner of said Lot 9;thence

Firma Subdivision,First Addition; thence east a distance of 217.71 feet to a point on the
centerline of Stanton Avenue,said point being 31.9 feet east of the northeast corner of said
Lot 1; thence north along said centerline a distance of 95.56 feet to a point 31.9 feet west
of the southwest corner of Lot 17,Parker's Addition; thence east a distance of 176.9 feet;
thence north a distance of 79.2 feet; thence west a distance of 29 feet; thence north along
the east line of the west 116 feet of said Lot 17 to a point on the centerline of Chamberlain
Street;thence easterly along said centerline to a point 39 feet north of the northwest corner
of Lot 5,Greer's Subdivision;thence south a distance of 95.9 feet to a point 10.9 feet south

beginning.
is hereby designated,pursuant to Chapter 404,Code of Iowa,as the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area.
Section Two. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
publication as required by law.
