SUBJECT: Motion to Approve/Deny the Rezoning of Property Located at 2919 Bloomington Road
from FS-RL (Suburban Residential Low Density) to FS-RM (Suburban Residential
Medium Density).
The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described request at their
meeting of September 5, 2001. The City Council will be taking action on the above-described request at
their meeting of September 25, 2001.(lp���

LEGAL NOTICE
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on September 25, 2001, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, by
changing the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate,generally located at 2919 Bloomington Road,is proposed to
be rezoned by ordinance from"FS-RL"(Suburban Residential Low Density)to "FS-RM"(Suburban
Residential Medium Density).
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: That part of the North Half of Section 28,Township
84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., City of Ames, Story County, Iowa,
described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter
of said Sectionn 28; thence S 89°50'45" W, 399.95 feet along the Southerly line of
said Northwest Quarter to the Point of Beginning; thence N 00' 09' 15" W, 162.99
feet; thence N 89' 50' 45" E, 373.00 feet along a line parallel with said Southerly
line; thence N 00' 09' 15" W, 393.99 feet to a point on a 1336.50 foot radius,non-
tangent curve, concave Northwesterly; thence Northeasterly, 722.33 feet along said
curve having a chord bearing N 69° 20' 28" E, 713.57 feet to a point on a 1000.00
foot radius,non-tangent curve, concave Northeasterly;thence Northwesterly,433.81
feet along said curve having a chord bearing N 40' 16' 20" W, 430.42 feet; thence
N 270 50' 39" W, 67.88 feet to the beginning of a 1000.00 foot radius,tangent curve,
concave Northeasterly; thence Northwesterly, 34.42 feet along said curve having a
chord bearing N 28' 49' 52" W, 34.41 feet; thence N 62° 09' 22" E, 841.57 feet to
a point on the Southwesterly right of way line of the Union Pacific Railroad
(formerly the Chicago &Northwestern Railroad); thence S 27' 50' 38" E, 1204.52
feet along said Southwesterly right of way line; thence S 00' 37' 5 5" E, 537.09 feet
to a point on the Southerly line of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 28; thence
S 890 21' 34" W, 1625.46 feet along said Southerly line to the point of beginning;
said tract containing 42.02 acres more or less.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office
of the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the September 25, 2001,
Council meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be
accepted.
