SUBJECT: kMotion to Approve/Deny the Rezoning of Property Located at 1208 Dayton Avenue from
"GI" (General Industrial) to "HOC" (Highway Oriented Commercial).
Motion to Approve/Deny the Rezoning of Property Located on the North Side of South
161h Street, Adjacent to the East Side of the Abandoned Railroad Right-of-Way from
"S-GA" (Government/Airport) to "A" (Agricultural).
The Planning and Zoning Commission will be taking action on the above-described requests at their
meeting of August 1, 2001. The City Council will be taking action on the above-described requests at
their meeting of August 28, 2001.
The legal description for the property located at 1208 Dayton Avenue is as follows:
Lot 1 of the Dayton Park Subdivision, First Addition
The legal description for the property located on South 161h Street is attached.
I have also attached labels for the 200' notifications.

You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, will meet at
7:00 p.m. on August 28,2001,in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue,Ames,Iowa,
to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,by changing
the boundaries of the districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 29.1506 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate located at 1208 Dayton Avenue is proposed to be rezoned by
ordinance from General Industrial (GI)to Highway-Oriented Commercial (HOC).
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Lot 1 of Dayton Park Subdivision, First Addition.
You are hereby notified that the proposed ordinance making such a change is on file in the Office of
the City Clerk. Any parties in interest and citizens may appear at the August 28, 2001, Council
meeting to testify for or against the proposed ordinance. Written testimony will also be accepted.
