AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA, PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 29.301
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED
AND SHOWN ON SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.1506
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,provided for in Section 29.301
of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the boundaries of the
districts established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by Section 29.1506 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: That the real estate generally located north of
College Creek, south of the west-side HyVee, east of Jeffrey Lane, and west of Village Drive, is
rezoned from"A" (Agricultural) to "RL" (Residential Low Density), including approximately 0.13
acres; from "A" (Agricultural), "RL" (Residential Low Density), and "RM" (Residential Medium
Density)to"F-S RL"(Suburban Residential Low Density), including approximately 37.41 acres; and,
from"A"(Agricultural), "RL"(Residential Low Density), and"RM" (Residential Medium Density)
to "F-S RM" (Suburban Residential Medium Density), including approximately 18.51 acres.
Property Description: From"A"(Agricultural)to"RL"(Residential Low Density): A part of Parcel
"G"in the North Half(N%2)of Section 8-T83N-R24W of the 5th P.M.,in the City of Ames, Story
County,Iowa; as shown on the"Plat of Survey"filed in the office of the Recorder of Story County,
Iowa, on May 17, 2000, and recorded as Instrument#00-05171 on Slide 67 at Page 4; described as
follows: "Beginning at the Northwest (NW) corner of said Parcel "G"; thence S 00' 10' 43" E,
403.87 feet along the west line of Parcel"G";thence S 89° 18'22"E, 15.00 feet along the centerline
of Harris Street extended; thence N00° 10'43" W,403.86 feet; thence N 89' 16'35" W, 15.00 feet
along the north line of Parcel "G", to the Point of Beginning."Zone contains: 6,058 square feet or
0.13 91 Acres; and,
