ORDINANCE NO. 3624
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 29.301
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED
AND SHOWN ON SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.1506
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames,Iowa,provided for in Section 29.301 of
the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the boundaries of the districts
established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by Section 29.1506 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows: That the real estate generally located at 3504 Grand Avenue is rezoned
from Residential Low Density(RL)to Residential High Density(RH).
Property Description: West 375 feet of South 120 Feet of North 10 Acres of Northwest Quarter,
Southwest Quarter, Section Twenty-six(26), Township Eighty-four(84)North,Range Twenty-four
(24) West of the 5th P.M., Iowa; AND,
The North 66 Feet of the South 330 Feet of the West 375 Feet of the North Half(N ''/z) of the
Northwest Quarter(NW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter(SW 1/4) of Section 26, Township 84 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Iowa, subject to and except road right-of-way; AND,
Commencing at the Southeast Corner of real estate described as follows: The North 66 Feet of the
South 330 Feet of the West 375 Feet of the North Half(N %Z) of the Northwest Quarter(NW 1/4)
of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 26, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th
P.M., Iowa, thence East 228 Feet; thence North 191 feet; thence West 228 Feet; thence South 191
Feet to the point of beginning, Ames, Story County, Iowa; EXCEPT:
Tract "A" in the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 84 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Ames, Story County, Iowa, as shown on the "Plat of Survey" filed
in the office of the recorder of Story County,Iowa, on the 3rd day of November, 1995, and recorded
in Book 13 at Page 157; AND EXCEPT:
A part of the North 35 Feet of the South 299 Feet of the North Half(N %2)of the Northwest Quarter
(NW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter(SW 1/4)of Section 26,Township 84 North,Range 24 West of
the 5th P.M., in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, described as follows: Commencing at the
West Quarter(W 1/4)Corner of said Section 26;thence South 0°14'30" East along the West line of
the Southwest Quarter(SW 1/4) of said Section 26 a distance of 404.0 Feet; thence East along the
north line of the South 264 Feet of the North Half(N '/2) of the Northwest Quarter(NW 1/4) of the
Southwest Quarter(SW 1/4) of said Section 26 a distance of 60.5 Feet to the Easterly right-of-way
of Grand Avenue and the point of beginning,thence Northwesterly along said right-of-way, around
an 8,660 Foot radius curve concentric with and 65 Foot radially distant from the centerline of Grand
Avenue, an arc distance of 35.04 Feet (the long chord bears North 03°10'25" West 35.04 Feet),
thence East along the North line of said South 299 Feet a distance of 528.75 Feet; thence South
38°00'East 44.4 Feet; thence West along the North line of the South 264 Feet of the North Half(N
1/2) of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section 26 a
distance of 554.1 Feet to the point of beginning.
Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication as
provided by law.
