AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 29.301
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED
AND SHOWN ON SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.1506
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa,provided for in Section 29.301 of
the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the boundaries of the districts
established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by Section 29.1506 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames, Iowa,as follows: That the real estate generally located north of Bloomington Road,west
of the Bloomington Heights Subdivision, and east of George Washington Carver is rezoned from A
(Agricultural)to SRLD (Suburban Residential Low Density):
Property Description: That part of the North Half of Section 28, Township 84 North, Range 24 West
of the 5th P.M.,City of Ames, Story County,Iowa, described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast
Corner of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 28; thence S 89°50'45"W. 399.95 feet along the
Southerly line of said Northwest Quarter to the Point of Beginning;thence N00°09'15"W. 162.99 feet;
thence N 89°50'45"E, 373.00 feet along a line parallel with said Southerly line; thence N00°09'15"W.
393.99 feet to a point on a 1336.50 foot radius, non-tangent curve, concave Northwesterly; thence
Northeasterly,722.33 feet along said curve having a chord bearing N69°20'28"E. 713.57 feet to a point
on a 1000.00 foot radius,non-tangent curve,concave Northeasterly;thence Northwesterly,43 3.8 1 feet
along said curve having a chord bearing N40°16'20" W. 430.42 feet; thence N27°50'39"W. 67.88 feet
to the beginning of a 1000.00 foot radius,tangent curve, concave Northeasterly;thence Northwesterly,

841.57 feet to a point on the Southwesterly right of way line of the Union Pacific Railroad(formerly

right of way line to a point on the Northerly line of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 28; thence
S89054'05"W. 527.01 feet along said Northerly line to the Northeast Corner of said Northwest Quarter;
thence S89°38'30"W.2625.12 feet along the Northerly line of said Northwest Quarter to the Northwest
Corner of said Northwest Quarter; thence S00036'58" E. 1499.02 feet along the westerly line of said
Northwest Quarter to the beginning of a 1143.54 foot radius,non-tangent curve,concave Northeasterly;
thence Southeasterly 1786.69 feet along said curve having a chord bearing S45°22'04"E. 1610.42 feet
to a point on the Southerly line of said Northwest Quarter;thence N89°52'28"E. 171.64 feet along said
Southerly line to the Southwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter of said Northwest Quarter; thence
N89°50'45"E. 902.11 feet along the Southerly line of the Southeast Quarter of said Northwest Quarter
to the point of beginning; said tract containing 181.98 acres more or less;

Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication as
provided by law.
