The Honorable Ted Tedesco, Mayor, R'
And Members of the City Council AUG '
Of the City of Ames, Iowa Y ' CITY CLERK
CIT`I OF ANTES, 10'AIA__
Re: Misdemeanor Fines
Dear Mayor Tedesco and Council Members:
The matter of the fine limit for misdemeanor violations of city ordinances returns to the Council after
being tabled at the previous meeting. You will all have received a copy of some information
requested by Council Member Quirmbach. In compiling that information it was noticed that when
the misdemeanor fine limit was raised from $100 to $200, three sections of the code were
overlooked. Those sections pertain to entertainment prohibited for minors, damage to cable TV
equipment, and wrongful interception of cable TV signals.
An ordinance is presented to remove the misdemeanor fine limit for those offenses also.
Yours truly,
John R. Klaus
City Attorney
