Ames, IA 50010
Dear Harry:
Traffic Engineer Scott Logan has informed me of your request for a 60-foot extension of the
school bus loading zone on the east side of Burnett adjacent to the school. It is my understanding
that this extension is necessary to accommodate the Kindergarten bus that currently parks on 20th
Street at the Kellogg intersection. Mr. Logan is in the process of preparing the appropriate
documents to present to the City Council on this issue. In the meantime, my letter constitutes a
"temporary suspension of parking regulations" (in accordance with Chapter 18 of the Municipal
Code), as follows:
As of the date of this letter, I hereby authorize a temporary school bus loading
zone 60-feet north of the 50-foot "no parking" zone (see attached diagram) on the
east side of Burnett adjacent to Meeker Elementary School. This temporary school
bus loading zone will be in effect until such time that the City Council takes action
on the permanent designation of this zone.
Please note that all other parking regulations in the area will continue to be enforced before,
during, and after the time of this temporary waiver.
Should you have any questions regarding this action, please give me a call.
Sincerely,
A I"
