HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Prohibiting Parking on Certain Streets in New Subdivisions ORDINANCE NO. 3473 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.31(197) AND ENACTING NEW SUBSECTIONS 18.31(197)AND 18.31(235)THROUGH (246)FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATING PARKING ON STREETS IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS AS FOLLOWS: BERKSHIRE AVENUE, WINDFIELD DRIVE, OAKWOOD ROAD,SHELLEY AVENUE,THACKERAY DRIVE,CERVANTES DRIVE, BRISTOL DRIVE, SHERWOOD AVENUE, CAMDEN DRIVE, SOMERSET DRIVE, CHESTER DRIVE, STANGE ROAD, KENT AVENUE; REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa, that: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by repealing subsection 18.31(197)and enacting new subsections 18.31(197)and 18.31(235) through 18.31(246) as follows: "(197) WINDFIELD DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the south side from Eisenhower Avenue to Columbine Circle; and on the north side from Columbine Circle to Hyde Avenue. (235) BERKSHIRE AVENUE. Parking is prohibited on the west side. (236) OAKWOOD ROAD. Parking is prohibited on both sides. (237) SHELLEY AVENUE. Parking is prohibited on the east side. (238) THACKERAY DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the north side from 500 feet east of Wilder Boulevard to the west end. (239) CERVANTES DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the east side. (240) BRISTOL DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the north side. (241) SHERWOOD AVENUE. Parking is prohibited on the east side. (242) CAMDEN DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the north side. (243) SOMERSET DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the east side (244) CHESTER DRIVE. Parking is prohibited on the north side. (245) STANGE ROAD. Parking is prohibited on both sides from 24th Street to Bristol Drive. (246) KENT AVENUE. Parking is prohibited on the east side, and on the west side from 24th Street to Camden Drive." Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 or by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, if any. Section Four.
