ORDINANCE NO. 3470
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA,ADOPTED BY SECTION 29.5
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA;
CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED
AND SHOWN ON SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.6
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa;
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, adopted by Section 29.5 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the boundaries of the districts
established and shown on said Map in the manner authorized by Section 29.6 of the Municipal Code
of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows: That the real estate generally located in the half-block north of
Lincoln Way between North Maple Avenue and North Oak Avenue, is rezoned from R-4 (High-
Density Residential)to R-2(Low-Density Residential), and the two half-blocks north of Lincoln Way
between North Russell Avenue and North Maple Avenue, is rezoned from R-3 (Medium-Density
Residential)to R-2 (Low-Density Residential).
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: (North Maple Avenue to North Oak Avenue)
Beginning at the intersection of the Centerline of North Maple Avenue and the Centerline of Lincoln
Way;thence East along the Centerline of Lincoln Way to the Centerline of North Oak Avenue; thence
North along the Centerline of North Oak Avenue to the Centerline of the East-West alley extended,
in Block 6, College Park Addition to Ames; thence West along the Centerline of the East-West alley
in Block 6, College Park Addition to the Centerline of North Maple Avenue; thence South along the
Centerline of North Maple Avenue to the point of beginning.
(North Russell Avenue to North Maple Avenue)
Beginning at the intersection of the Centerline of North Russell Avenue and the Centerline of Lincoln
Way; thence East along the Centerline of Lincoln Way to the Centerline of North Maple Avenue;
thence North along the Centerline of North Maple Avenue to the Centerline of the East-West alley
extended, in Block 7, College Park Addition to Ames; thence West along the Centerline of the East-
West alley in Block 7 and Block 12, College Park Addition, and Block 1, Reads Addition to Ames,
to the Centerline of North Russell Avenue; thence South along the Centerline of North Russell
Avenue to the point of beginning.
Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication
as provided by law.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of November , 1997.
