RESOLUTION NO. 97-414
RESOLUTION REFERRING PROPOSED ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AREA AND PROJECT PLAN TO THE
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION FOR REVIEW
AND COMMENT
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa, that a proposal
for the designation of an economic development area and the establishment of a tax-
increment financing district with respect to that area, all in accordance with the provisions
of Chapter 403, Code of Iowa, 1997, and as more fully and specifically described in the
plan and area description attached hereto,be and the same is hereby referred to the Ames
Planning and Zoning Commission for its review and comment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,the City Clerk shall mail the said proposed plan by
regular mail to the affected taxing entities,along with a notification of a consultation to be
held between the municipality and affected taxing entities in room 235 at the Ames City
Hall,on the 10th day of September, 1997.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that a public hearing on the aforesaid proposal and
plan shall be held by the Ames City Council in conjunction with its meeting scheduled for
7:00 p.m., October 14, 1997, and the City Clerk shall cause notice thereof to be published
as required by law, and the Clerk shall mail a copy of said notice to each affected taxing
entity.
