SUBJECT: Somerset
As you know, at the February 27 Council meeting a motion was adopted to continue the pending
proceedings to the March 27 meeting; and, to set March 27 as the date of hearing on a proposed
amendment to what has been pending since November. So,at its March 27 meeting the Council will
have four resolutions on the agenda as follows:
1. Resolution Amending the URA#7 plan
2. Resolution for second amendment of the URA#7 plan
3. Resolution to adopt the Somerset URA plan
4. Resolution amending the Somerset URA plan
Also on the agenda will be the ordinance to designate the Somerset URA. Copies of the four
resolutions, and the ordinance are attached. Also attached are the two hearing notices each to be
published once,not less than seven days before the March 27 meeting. PL 63.
No property improvements can receive tax exemption unless:
a. The Assessor determines that the works meets the minimum value added requirement
and was done after the effective date of the ordinance.
b. The Council has determined that the requirements of the plan were being met when
the improvements were done.
