Dear City Council Member-
I urge the city council to allow parking on Sunday mornings (upon a bike
lane) on North Hyland Ave. Other cities have such arrangements. To let a
$76,000 grant drive a $1.2 Million project is a good example of the tail
wagging the dog.
I would regret the disruption and impairment of a community institution
that's been in place for the last 27 years.
I appreciate this has not been easy for council. As things unfolded, I had the
perception that new actors entered the field, and the issues themselves
seemed to change. Perhaps the process would be less contentious and the
Politics less adversarial if all the Parties sat down together very early in the
process. A similar sort of regrettable adversarial Politics has -risen with the
Proposed Mosque, It is curious (i.e., ironic) that the city might take away
Parking in a neighborhood while allowing another parking-intensive facility
to be built,
Sincerely Yours,
James Pritchard
