The Honorable Larry Curtis,Mayor of Ames
515 Clark Avenue
Ames, IA 50010
The Honorable Larry Curtis,Mayor of Ames, and the Ames City Council:
The 3rd Annual Ginkgo Festival...A Celebration of Laughter&Family will take place the
weekend of July 11-13, 1997, in downtown Ames.
We would like to request a waiver of the city ordinance which states that there is to be no
skateboarding between the streets of Lincoln Way and 6th Street. We are requesting this
waiver strictly for the reasons of the Ginkgo Festival.
On Saturday,July 12, 1997, on Main Street, the Ginkgo Festival Organizing Committee
has planned to have skateboarding demonstrations from area skateboarders from noon to
4:30 p.m.
We would like to get this placed on the agenda for the July R City Council meeting.
Please feel free to call the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau if you have any further
questions. Thank you for your consideration.
