ORDINANCE NO. 3413
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 23.1(3)AND RE-ENACTING
THE SAME REVISED FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXTENDING AUTHORITY
FOR REVIEW OF SUBDIVISION PLATS TO THE UNINCORPORATED
AREAS OF BOONE AND STORY COUNTIES THAT ARE NOT MORE THAN
TWO MILES DISTANT FROM THE CITY'S BOUNDARY;REPEALING ANY
AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO
THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ENACTED,by the City Council for the City of Ames,Iowa,that:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by
repealing Subsection 23.1(3)thereof and re-enacting said Subsection to state as follows:
"(3) In accordance with the authority of Section 354.9 Code of Iowa, 1995,the area subject to the
City of Ames review and approval of subdivisions outside the boundaries of the City of Ames
shall include all land in the unincorporated areas of Boone and Story counties that is not more
than two miles distant from the boundary of the City of Ames."
Section Two. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict,if any.
Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as
required by law.
