Re: Traffic Sight lines at 315 Hickory Drive
Dear Sirs:
This letter is to notify you of our concerns regarding traffic safety at our personal
residence at 315 Hickory Drive. We felt this letter was necessary because in our view the
current on-street parking provides a situation where an accident-is-waiting-to-happen.
It is our belief that the combination of the narrow curved street, on-street parking and
neighboring landscape growth has created a situation where customary sight lines to on-
coming traffic is not possible and therefore unsafe. As we leave our residence by vehicle,
we often feel we are vulnerable to on-coming traffic we can't see, especially to traffic that is
speeding. As you may know, this area has been the scene of a traffic accident in the past.
A remedy to this situation, we feel, is to move the on-street parking to the other side of
the street. The cars, trucks and vans that are parked on the west side are in most cases
driven by people who live on the east side of Hickory Drive. This seems like a simple and
effective solution allowing improved sight lines to on-coming traffic and enhanced safety
for all concerned.
Please feel free to call us when you have any comments or questions.
Sinc rely,
Di and Diane Roseland
