HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Allowing an Exception Regarding Visits to a Home Occupation Site ORDINANCE NO. 3344 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 29.10(3)(e) OF THE AMES MUNICIPAL CODE AND RE-ENACTING THE SAME REVISED TO ALLOW AN EXCEPTION TO THE LIMIT ON TRIPS TO A HOME OCCUPATION SITE WITH RESPECT TO DAY-CARE HOMES; REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa, that: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and the same is hereby amended by repealing Subsection 29.10(3)(e) and re-enacting said Subsection to state as follows: "(e) Traffic. The activity should not generate significantly greater traffic volumes than would normally be expected in a residential area. Not more than ten (10) visits per day shall be allowed. An exception to the number of visits allowed per day may be permitted for day-care homes due to the number of children or adults allowed and the need for parent or care giver contact during the day. Generally delivery and pickup of materials or commodities to and from the premises by commercial vehicles should not interfere with the delivery of utilities or other services in the area." Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a municipal infraction punishable as set out in Section 1.9 of the Municipal Code. Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, if any. Section Four.
