HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Requiring That Hospital Trustee Candidates Be Ames Residents ORDINANCE NO. 3341 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 12.3 AS IT NOW EXISTS AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 12.3 FOR THE PURPOSE OF STATING THAT CANDIDATES FOR HOSPITAL TRUSTEE POSITIONS MUST BE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF AMES; REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa,that: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be amended by repealing Section 12.3 as it now exists and enacting a new Section 12.3 as follows: "See. 12.3. QUALIFICATIONS. Any adult may be a candidate for the Ames City Hospital Board of Trustees. A candidate for Hospital Trustees must be nominated by petition of residents of the City in accordance with the election laws of Iowa." Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a municipal infraction punishable as set out in Section 1.9 of the Municipal Code. Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, if any. Section Four.
