COUNCIL ACTION FORM
SUBJECT: PARKING PROHIBITIONS IN THE ASPEN BUSINESS PARK SUB-
DIVISION.
BACKGROUND:
During the review of the Aspen Business Park Subdivision, both staff and the
developer, Scott Randall, agreed that no on-street parking should be allowed within the
subdivision. These streets include Golden Aspen Circle, Golden Aspen Drive, and
South 17th Street. Due to the heavier volumes that are projected, it is believed that the
entire 31' street width should be utilized for traffic purposes only. It was also believed
that on-street parking would not be needed, since all sites within the development
would have ample off-street parking. Shown on the attached diagram are the proposed
parking restrictions within this subdivision.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Prohibit parking on all sides of streets within the Aspen Business Park
Subdivisions, including Golden Aspen Drive, Golden Aspen Circle, and South 17th
Street.
2. Do nothing.
MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is the recommendation of the City Manager that the City Council adopt alternative
number one, thereby directing the City Attorney to draft an ordinance prohibiting
parking on all sides of streets within the Aspen Business Park Subdivisions, including
Golden Aspen Drive, Golden Aspen Circle, and South 17th Street.
