AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 29.20(18)(e) AND RE-EN-
ACTING THE SAME REVISED TO CHANGE ZONING REGULATIONS PER-
TAINING TO LOCATION OF DETACHED GARAGES IN THE R-5 (MOBILE
HOME) DISTRICT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH; ESTABLISHING A PENALTY AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby amend-
ed by repealing Subsection 29.20(18)(e) and re-enacting the same to read as
follows:
"(e) No part of any mobile home, or room addition shall be located less
than thirty (30) feet from the exterior boundary of the mobile home
park, except for awnings, raised open decks and detached garages.
Awnings and open decks may extend up to ten (10) feet into the
required thirty (30) foot setback area. Detached garages shall be
located not less than twenty (20) feet form the exterior boundary
of the mobile home park."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute
a municipal infraction, punishable as set out in Section 1.9, Ames Municipal Code.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as required by law.
