ORDINANCE NO. 3267
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS 18.31(41) AND (146) AS
THEY NOW EXIST AND ENACTING NEW SUBSECTIONS 18.31(41) AND
(146) FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING
BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 5:00 P.M. ON PORTIONS OF ELEVENTH
STREET AND TWELFTH STREET; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; ESTABLISHING A PENALTY AND SETTING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby amend-
ed by repealing Subsections 18.31(41) and (146) and enacting new Subsections as
follows:
"(41) ELEVENTH STREET. Parking is prohibited:
a) on the north side between Douglas Avenue and Maxwell Ave-
nue,
b) on the south side between Kellogg Avenue and Douglas Ave-
nue,
c) alternately, Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the south side
and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on the north
side, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. , between Kellogg Avenue
and Grand Avenue, and between Duff Avenue and Carroll
Avenue.
(146) TWELFTH STREET. Parking is prohibited:
a) on the north side between Grand Avenue and Northwestern
Avenue,
b) on the north side from Carroll Avenue to the north-south alley
between Douglas Avenue and Duff Avenue,
c) on the south side from Duff Avenue to the north-south alley
between Douglas Avenue and Duff Avenue,
d) on the south side from the west line of the north-south alley
between Douglas Avenue and Kellogg Avenue westward fifty
(50) feet,
e) alternately, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the south
side and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on the
north side, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. , between Duff Ave-
nue and Carroll Avenue."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute
a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 or by imprisonment
for not more than 30 days.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as required by law.
